Mr Rakayet-ul-Karim Rakim wins 12th Greenstorm International Nature Photography Contest

Greenstorm Foundation felicitated the top 3 winners and finalists of the 12th Greenstorm International Nature Photography Contest on a virtual award ceremony on 28th December. The 12th edition witnessed a tough competition with 6811 entries from 52 countries worldwide.

The first prize bearing a citation and a cash reward of Rs. 50,000/- was bagged by Mr Rakayet-ul-Karim Rakim of Bangladesh for his photograph titled 'Infinity' that depicts a caterpillar caught in an endless loop symbolic of its metamorphic lifecycle. The first runner up Prize bearing the citation and cash reward of Rs. 30,000/- went to Mr Mohamed Noufal of Sharjah, UAE for his photograph titled "Sand Dunes", wherein an Arab travelling amidst the dunes with his camel during Sunset was beautifully captured in a moment of animation. The second runner-up went to Mr Kartikeya Grover from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, which carried a citation and cash reward. 20,000/- for a photograph that showed the pains of the lockdown, in which a labourer and a dog were seen sharing the available space for a nap.

Renowned Advertising Guru Mr Prathap Suthan and Climate Crusader Mr Ranjan Panda, the jury members of the contest felicitated the winners. Mr Dileep Narayanan, Managing Trustee, Mr George Korah & Mr Anil Menon, Trustees of the Foundation also spoke.
